End of the result with postal voting brings hardly any changes – Diepresse.com

After the majority of the postal voting cards and other election cards had already been counted on the urn result on Sunday, only a comparatively small remnant followed on Monday.

The Vienna election has been defeated, on Monday the remaining postal voting cards were also counted, which resulted in almost no change. The SPÖ clearly took first place in the election on Sunday – with slight losses. The FPÖ massively increased from a very low level and fifth place and won second place in front of the Greens, which remained stable. The Neos came fourth with winnings, the ÖVP crashed to fifth place with a record loss.

After the majority of the postal voting cards and the other election cards had already been counted on the urn result on Sunday, only a comparatively small remnant followed on Monday. As a result, this did not change anything significantly.

SPÖ with a small minus, FPÖ with record plus

In the preliminary end result, the SPÖ came to 39.4 percent of the vote in the preliminary end result, which means a minus of 2.2 percentage points compared to the election in 2020. The red had reached 41.6 percent during the last urn.

The FPÖ, which launched only 7.1 percent after its Ibiza crash in 2020, was almost tripled and landed in 20.4 percent of the vote. The +13.2 percentage points mean not only the largest blue, but the greatest increase in voices in a Vienna election.

Green unchanged, ÖVP crashed

The Greens were able to keep their voting share with 14.5 percent. They only had to give up 0.3 points from 14.8 percent from 2020.

The NEOS – by 2.5 points (2020: 7.5 percent). With the now 10 percent, the liberals overtook the ÖVP and, thanks to the Monday election cards, became almost double-digit. The People’s Party suffered a massive break -in on Sunday. Of the 20.4 percent from 2020, they lost 10.8 percentage points, which meant the largest turquoise minus in the capital and came to only 9.7 percent. The narrow match between Neos and ÖVP had only been finally clarified on Monday with the counting of the postal votes.

The turnout was 62.7 percent of those entitled to vote and thus lower than 2020 (65.3).

SPÖ has all options for coalition formation

According to the foresight of the foresight, the SPÖ comes to 43 mandates and could thus continue the coalition with the previous partner Neos (in future ten mandates). A collaboration also goes with the ÖVP, which also comes to ten mandates – or with the Greens (with 15 of the total of 100 seats in the city parliament). There is also a full majority with the FPÖ (22 seats), but it is not an option for the SPÖ.

The KPÖ, which had been on the left, have failed at the five percent hurdle with the list of 4.0 percent and the Strache Team (1.1 percent). (APA)
