In the corridors of the Grévin Museum, the President of the Republic is missing. Emmanuel Macron’s wax statue – Inaugurated in the museum since May 2018 – was stolen this Monday, May 2 in the morning by several people claiming themselves as Greenpeace activists, according to police sources.

According to this source, two women and a man, pretending to be tourists, entered the Parisian museum, located in the 9th arrondissement. After having changed, this time pretending to be craftsmen or employees of the establishment, they managed to steal the statue, worth 40,000 euros. They were able to hide it under a blanket and get out of the museum by an emergency exit.

The environmental association, contacted by Releaseclaims this action and ensures having « Borrowed » the wax statue of the Head of State, « And not stolen ».

Some Greenpeace activists – accompanied by the statue – then took over the management of the Russian Embassy in Paris (16th) in order to « Denounce the continuation of trade between France and Russia, in particular with regard to gas and chemical fertilizers ».
