Emanuel Ivanov will play at Carnegie Hall for 30 years « Musical Treasures from Bulgaria »


One of the most prestigious world scenes – Carnegie Hall in New York – will host a concert on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the concert cycle « Musical Treasures from Bulgaria » announced the International Foundation « St. Cyril and Methodius ». She organizes it with Pavlina Dokovska – a longtime educator and head of the Department of Piano at Mannes School of Music.

The concert will take place on May 21 at 7.30 pm and his soloist will be the pianist Emanuel IvanovS

Emanuel Ivanov was born in 1998 in Pazardzhik. He started playing the piano at the age of 7 with Galina Daskalova, and later studied with Prof. Atanas Kurtev. In 2019, he won the first prize at the prestigious Ferrucho Buzoni International Competition in Italy. He is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London as a scholarship holder established on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Academy and awarded exceptional young talents. His repertoire covers works from Baroque to Modernity.

Pavlina Dokovska is the winner of the first prize at the Claude Debussy International Competition and one of the most dedicated piano educators in the United States, the Foundation wrote. Since 1998 she has been the head of the Department of Piano at Mannes School of Music, where she has trained a number of distinguished musicians.

Since its creation in 1995, nearly 100 performers have participated in the concerts « Musical Treasures from Bulgaria », including Mila Georgieva, Anna Stoycheva, Hristo Tanev, Lora Chekoratova, Georgi Valchev, Dimitar Moskovski, Zlatomir Fung, Nadezhda Vlaeva, Lora Al-Ahmad.
