EM Stadium climbers complain about 12,000 euros calculation
After his climbing tour through the roof structure of the Dortmund football stadium at the European Championship round of round last June, a young man from Osnabrück does not want to pay police fees of around 12,000 euros. He filed a lawsuit to the responsible administrative court in Gelsenkirchen, as a court spokesman for the German press agency said.
Accordingly, the lawsuit against the cost notice is now under the file number 17 K 3525/25. According to the court, the brief of the man’s lawyer was received on Friday.
Police want exactly 12,076.93 euros
According to previous information, the Dortmund police – 21 years old – sent the man to a decision of EUR 12,076.93 for the operating costs. A total of 108 police officers, including a special command (SEK), were involved.
« A large part of the amount does not apply to 9,973.00 euros on the personnel costs of the emergency services, » a spokesman for the Dortmund police had declared at the end of April. In addition, the costs for checking and ensuring the backpack by officials from the State Criminal Police Office NRW and for the use of the police helicopter were incurred. So far, the young man only had to pay a penalty order of over 1,050 euros for trespassing.
The climber was then caught again
The Osnabrücker was discovered at the European Championship round of round between Germany and Denmark under the stadium roof. According to « Spiegel », he had already climbed up the evening before to take photos. He therefore belongs to the “Roofer” scene, i.e. to people who climb at daring heights. He was caught at the Ulm Münster in October.
The Roofers’ lawyer had already announced before the fee notice in the « Spiegel » not to accept this. The security forces were already on site anyway.
