In an accident with a tram on Wednesday in downtown Graz, eleven people were injured, one of them seriously.
As the police reported, a set of line 1 in Annenstraße drove into the city and crashed into the amount of the Roseggerhaus double stop against a vehicle standing in front of her, which in turn was pushed against a holding tram on line 4. The tram driver stated that they were distracted by a cyclist.
Collection inevitable despite braking
According to the initial police surveys, a set of line 4 had stopped in the direction of travel inland in order to get passengers in and out. The distracted driver of line 1 initiated a danger braking, but could no longer prevent the collision. The tram pushed with the front against the rear of a car that had stopped behind line 4. Due to the force of the impact, the car was pushed against the standing tram.
Eleven people in line 1 were injured. A 78-year-old woman suffered a serious injury and, like a 28-year-old pregnant woman, was admitted to the LKH Graz or the UKH Graz. The other injuries were treated on an outpatient basis. (APA)
