The new electric chapter of the Volkswagen brand Škoda began in 2020 with the damage to Enyaq, which has since experienced quite a few updates. Also, the recent, last one, gives it a more attractive image.

Although electric mobility in Europe has not grown as fast as anyone announced or expected, Skodin Enyaq has found quite a few customers to date. In total, 270,000 have been sold so far, almost 80,000 last year. This model has not been so important for the sale to the domestic Czech Republic, as the electric market there is developing similarly slowly as in our country, so more for other markets, including Velika Germany, where ENYAQ was the second best -selling electric car last year.

In Škoda’s production center in Mladi Boleslav Enyaq, they are produced by their otherwise largest classic hit Octavio as well as the new smaller electric ELROQ electric model. If we have heard right, the production is interesting, for example, the whole shift would consist of only one model, but are exchanged in the series, although these are two fairly different propulsion architecture.

Both ELROQ and ENYAQ are ready on the basis of MEB, that is, the Volkswagen Platform for exclusively electric models, where the drive is basically at the rear. Of course, there are no changes in this respect in this respect. However, it is changed, and quite a bit, its outer design, where, as with Elroqu, they introduced a much more closed mask and new headlamps with sacred diodes that glow better. There is no more brand sign on the bonnet, but an inscription of her name. They say that the changes have not only achieved new images but also better aerodynamics, with ENYAQ they indicate the resistance ratio of 0.245, for a coupe version of 0.225.

Inside-it is 466 cm long-this remains comfortable and a fairly airy car in the basic SUV, we can call it family, although it is not as flexible as any Kodiaq. Yet, the trip is comfortable in front and rear. Even on the steering wheel, the Škoda name is now displayed, the information display on the windshield is also possible in the performance with enriched reality. Earlier, the road position was good, now the suspension is a little improved.

The boot has a concrete space (585 l, 570 lv coupe), even practical solutions, which is known to be known, is not lacking. Unfortunately, ENYAQ continues to have a front boot, for example, where a charging cable could be stored.

They are available as two batteries with a capacity of 58 and 77 kW, in the case of the first, ENYAQ has only a rear -wheel drive and 150 kW (the market mark is 60), and with a larger battery it can have a rear drive or four -wheeled (85 and 85x), the system power is always 210 kW.

Consumption? At the first kilometers, we drove 85x, from Prague to linden partly along the highway, partly along the main roads, in cold and humid weather, and the computer displayed a consumption of 21 kWh/100 hp.

At most, solid, but not particularly good. More will show a longer test. Charging options are different, it can be slower or (very) fast, especially in the most powerful version of 85x. The presentation also shows a home charging station, which allows two -way charging, which will still have to be waited for us.

The renovated enyaq can already be ordered here, and cars will be in Slovenia or June. The entry price for a weaker battery and rear drive (60) is 41 thousand euros, with a larger battery and rear drive (85) costs from 45 thousand euros, with four -wheel (85x) 48 thousand. Coupe is about $ 2500 more expensive. This, of course, is all before the subsidy. The larger battery performance has so far been best sold in our country and in all markets in general, it is noticeable that the price for 85 and 85x (60 before the renovation was not even sold). Good for any new customers and less gratifying for the previous one. Let us add that soon there will be a really sporting performance of the Republic of Slovenia, which is likely to be measured on very selected enthusiasts of powerful electric cars.

As we said in the introduction, there is now a new era of electricity, but they have been dealing with it before, much earlier. In 1908, they prepared the first Laurin & Clement E hybrid vehicle, and in the 1930s, they had a completely electric truck. Then there was a really long break, just like with all other competitors. In 2019, they got an electrical performance of a mini-model Citigo, which, like Volkswagen e-up, unfortunately has been on the market for some time. The year 2020 was, as said, time for Enyaq, this time renovated; This year there is also a smaller SUV ELROQ on the market, with a small Epic and the largest seven -seat electric SUV for the end of 2026, and then an electric octavia, which will probably be prepared with the electric Volkswagen Golf.
