Elderly bonus 2025, how to obtain (and spend) the contribution of 850 euros per month: the clarifications of the INPS

More details on the rules and requirements of the elderly bonus. The INPS provided some clarifications on the universal performance for the non -self -sufficient elderly, introduced with the legislative decree of 15 March 2024.
The measure, in force since 2025, is dedicated to non -self -sufficient over 80 and intends to support autonomy and encourage the domicile of the care, integrating the accompanying allowance with an assistance allowance up to 850 euros per month.
The requirements of the elderly bonus
To access the service, applicants must meet certain criteria: age equal to or over 80 years; very serious care need ascertained by INPS; ISEE SUPPLYSANITARY NOT higher than 6,000 euros; ownership (or requirements for recognition) of the accompanying allowance.
Payments
The service provides two payments: a fixed fee, paid as’ accompanying allowance and an supplementary fee or the assistance allowance up to 850 euros which will be liquidated separately. The INPS underlines that it is possible to obtain the backlogs of the check but the beneficiaries must send, within thirty days from the communication of acceptance of the application, the documentation of the expenses incurred (paychecks or invoices). The Institute also reports that the universal performance is free of taxes and is not foreclosed.
The expenses allowed
As specified by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, « the bonus can be spent to cover the cost of the care and assistance labor, carried out by domestic workers for at least fifteen hours per week, with personal assistance duties, owners of employment relationships in accordance with national collective contracts in the sector. It is then possible to purchase « services intended for care and assistance work and provided by companies and professionals qualified in the non -residential social assistance sector ». The request for the service must be submitted electronically, starting from the month in which the beneficiary turns 80, by accessing the INPS portal or it is possible to make use of the support of the patronage.
