Eight people arrested and suspected of child trafficking after finding 31 children in Brcko

Police in Brcko in Bosnia and Herzegovina have arrested a total of eight people suspected of child trafficking after finding 31 children in a house in the city.
« In the framework of the activities so far to find 31 children, a total of eight people have been arrested on suspicion of committing » trafficking « , » trafficking in children « and » neglect « or abuse of a child, » the Brcko District Police said.
District police spokeswoman Jevida Jukicevic told reporters that the investigation into the case is complex and includes more lines of action, saying that due to the complexity of the case, on the order of the prosecutor, cooperation with the Agency for Investigation and Protection (SIPA), the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Interior, with Europol.
Police, in collaboration with the Center for Social Work and the Red Cross two days ago, found 31 children in a house in Brcko, after which the children were transferred to a safe place.
Media in BiH reported that the children found had Croatian passports and was guarded by a woman, most likely an Italian national who was arrested.
Among those arrested are allegedly a police officer and his mother.
