Economic Organizations Platform: We concern the last steps of the Greek administration in the field of property – Cyprus Newspaper

The Platform of Economic Organizations said that they concerned that the Greek administration’s last steps in the field of property.

The platform, which consists of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Industry, Turkish Cypriot Hoteliers Association and Turkish Cypriot Construction Contractors Association, made a written assessment of the latest developments.

« “According to the information obtained from reliable sources, the Greek Cypriot administration does not consider real estate sales in Northern Cyprus as a purely legal issue; It carries out a systematic punishment process that directly targets individuals ”.

The explanation continued with the following statements:

“Initially, these proceedings, which target only representatives and contractors of the construction sector, expanded its scope in a short time, included a large segment extending from real estate agents to equivalent property owners and even buyers. It is also in the position of the Greek Authority, which has started to use the electronic notification method.

This path, which the Greek side is followed, not only violates the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals; It also causes serious harm to fragile relations between the two societies. These steps, which are taken by ignoring the political and social dimensions of the property issue, are incompatible with the universal principles of law.

As Platform of Economic Organizations, we share with the public that we are deeply concerned about these new practices of the Greek administration. In the face of these developments, we call for the establishment of a common action plan at the highest level in consultation with the authorities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It is our expectation that an effective legal and diplomatic struggle will be carried out in order to protect the rights of individuals who may be negatively affected by the unjust attempts of the Greek side. ”
