Easter with several closed emergencies
Six urgencies will be closed on Saturday and ten on Sunday, most of which of obstetrics and gynecology in Lisbon and Vale do Tagus. The information was shared this Monday at the National Health Service Portal (NHS).
Over the end of the weekend, the constraints in the services will be verified on Friday holiday, the day when the urgencies of obstetrics and gynecology of the hospitals Garcia de Orta (Almada) and Amadora-Sintra will be closed. Also closed is the pediatrics of Vila Franca de Xira.
The number of closed emergencies increases to six on Saturday, including gynecology and obstetrics of hospitals Garcia de Orta, Amadora-Sintra, Vila Franca de Xira and Barreiro. To these are joined by pediatrics in Vila Franca de Xira and Beatriz Ângelo (Loures).
Already on Easter Sunday there will be ten closed-door emergency services, the vast majority of gynecology and obstetrics specialties, such as Garcia de Orta, Amadora-Sintra, Barreiro, Setúbal, Vila Franca de Xira, Santarém and Abrantes hospitals.
In addition to these, the pediatric emergency services in Vila Franca de Xira, Loures and Torres Vedras will be closed.
The SNS portal also indicates that in these three days, about 130 emergencies of various specialties across the country will be opened, which are combined about 30 obstetrics and gynecology integrated into the pilot project. This implies a prior contact of users with the SNS 24 line.
The embarrassment of emergency services is mainly due to the lack of medical experts to ensure the scales, a situation that is more frequent in vacation periods, such as summer and end of the year, and prolonged weekends.
