Easter tournament in accelerated chess for veterans


The Veterans Chess Club Skopje 72 (Sunday) will hold the traditional fourth Easter tournament in an accelerated chess for veterans in seven competitive cars (Swiss system), in the premises of the Restaurant « Guild » in Skopje. Chess players of 60 years and older have the right to participate. Due to the limited spatial capabilities, the number of participants is limited to 24, with the organizer reserving the right to make a large number of reported selection, according to the chess players’ strength. The tournament judge is the experienced FIDE Master (FM) Ljubomir Hadzi-Manev and director Aleksandar Sidorovski.

It will be played and scored by FIDE rules for accelerated chess, or 15 minutes for a party by adding 10 seconds for each move starting from the first, per player. Confirmation of participation until tomorrow until 10 am. The first round will begin immediately after the opening ceremony, and after four rounds, there will be a 30 -minute break. The announcement of the winners and the awards will be immediately after the end of the last round.

– According to the reported chess players so far, 28, five of which are FM, the tournament is the highest quality of its kind so far (average rating of 1,908 points). We also have three participants from Gevgelija, and it is possible to perform a chess player with the highest title Grandmaster. Three chess players, so far, are Gjorgji Prosev (2,218), FM Ljubisa Andonovski (2,159) and FM Jani Bogoevski (2,158). Before the start of the tournament, each participant will receive an Easter egg – said the President of FC Skopje 72, Ilija Stosevski.
