Earthquake: Two new vibrations off Kassos after 6 Richter
Two new vibrations were marked off Kassos After a strong earthquake 6 degrees on the Richter scale, for which scientists are reassuring. The strong earthquake occurred at 01:51 in the maritime area between Kassos and Karpathos. The focus was found 20 kilometers south of Kassos and had a focal depth of 64.4 km.
According to the Euro -Mediterranean Center, the earthquake was 6.1 Richter, with the focus of 164 km east of Heraklion and 38 km south of Karpathos, while its depth is set at 71km.
The earthquake was particularly noticeable in Crete and Rhodes while a tsunami warning was issued.

Two new vibrations
After the powerful earthquake, the Geodynamic Institute recorded two new vibrations off Kassos.
The first was noted at 3:30 in the early morning and was 2.8 Richter, while its focal depth was in 6.3 kilometers.
The second 3.4 Richter was at 3:57, centered 15 kilometers south of Kassos and a focal depth of 47.2 kilometers.
‘Earthquake lump sum’
Scientists, however, appear reassuring and do not expect a large post -sequence after 6 Richter. It is noteworthy that OASP President Efthymi Lekkas spoke of « earthquake – one -off », since the main feature of this strong vibration was its great focal depth.
« The main feature of this great vibration is that the focal depth is 60 kilometers. This means that the move has reached Kaso and Karpathos and much more in Crete, so according to the first data and with the first descriptions of the residents not having any significant implications without having a complete picture, « Mr Lekkas told Erdws.
