Earthquake shakes southern Italian region of Apulia
An earthquake occurred in the south of Italy in the evening. The National Institute for Geophysics and Vulcanology (INGV) stated the strength with 4.7 and located the epicenter off the Pugli's coast. Shaken were felt in larger cities such as Bari and Foggia as well as even in adjacent regions. According to the fire brigade and other authorities, nothing became known about injured or major damage.
According to the institute, the strongest quake was measured at around 8:35 p.m. This was followed by several aftershocks up to a thickness of 3.8. « We watch the situation. So far there are no reports on critical events, but we are on alert, ”said the head of the Apulian civil protection Barbara Valenzano of the Ansa news agency.
Again earthquakes in the Phlegraian fields
In the south of Italy, the earth lifted several times. Near the city of Naples, an earthquake of 4.4 shook the area around the Phlegraian fields, a so -called super volcano, and put the residents of the area in Campania in horror. There was another earthquake on Friday evening – this time 3.5 strength. The phlegraic fields are an area with high volcanic activity.
