Earthquake in Crete: Video from the time of vibration

The earthquake reportedly caused small landslides on the provincial road network and on August 25th in Heraklion there was a slight decline in parts of a building.
At the scene, municipal police officers were found who excluded the site and other areas are being examined.

The fire departments of Crete are in general alert. Firefighting vehicles are already patrolling to control the situation.
The services of both the Region of Crete and the Municipalities are also in a state of increased readiness.
From the first moment, the directive by the Municipalities of Heraklion and Lasithi have been given the directive to control schools.
There has been no problem so far and some schools that had organized an excursion have been canceled for security reasons.
It will be announced in a short time whether schools in the municipality of Agios Nikolaos will also operate.
Speaking to Mega, OASP President Efthimios Lekkas noted that it is positive that the focus of the earthquake was at sea and that it was probably excluded for a tsunami.
Mr Lekkas spoke of an earthquake of significant depth that is difficult to transport to the surface. The vibration took place at the intersection of the African and European plate that has given strong earthquakes in the past and is not related to Santorini.
In the first ten minutes after the earthquake, calls to « 100 » were limited to preventive phone calls and expressions of fear, without reporting damage or injuries so far, Cretalive reports.
