The E40 towards Brussels is currently completely closed at the height of Tienen exit, due to a major accident a little further. A truck tilted in the middle of the motorway.
Around 12.30 a truck got a blowout on the highway towards Brussels, between exit Tienen and exit Boutersem. The truck has therefore started swallowing, and finally tilted in the middle of the highway.

The driver of the vehicle was slightly injured, but was able to crawl out of the car. « The truck was loaded with animal feed, » says the Bertem traffic police. “It stayed in the truck, but it must be loaded. There is also a small fuel oil leak. «
« We see that there is already a lot of nuisance on local roads in the vicinity of Tienen, » says the traffic center. “The highway is completely blocked. The load of the truck is still in the vehicle, so it can take a few hours before the road is free again. ”
To let the emergency services do their work and because the truck is blocking a large part of the highway, the E40 is currently closed from the Tienen exit. The traffic is further guided via Binswegen towards Leuven. (HSB)
