Investigators from the State Market Inspectorate are on the ground to determine whether traders, distributors or producers have deviant behavior, ie whether there is an increase in food prices. If the price prices are determined in that case, more rigorous measures will be taken, Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi said at today’s press conference. Among the measures that are considered if there is an enormous increase in food prices are the margin limitation, but, as he said, the percentage of the margin can be raised.

He noted that inspectors would report at the end of the current month to submit to the Government and the Ministry of Economy and Labor. Based on it, if there is what he says, divided behavior of traders and enormously raising product prices, without financial justification by traders, distributors or producers will be adopted more rigorous measures in the coming period.

– From the day the inspectors were conducting control for 30 days. So when they were in control they were written to them, from that day they have a deadline within 30 days. The measure is generally respected, the law is respected. Traders have already published their products on the website – says Durmishi.

Asked what they will do if the company has eight employees and has a greater turnover than prescribed by law, Durmishi responding that they will analyze and see whether they can harmonize certain articles in the law so they can work.

He said at today’s press conference that every penny is important and every change in the market is directly reflected in the daily lives of our citizens, the bread we buy, oil, sugar or hygiene products.

– Therefore, as an institution from the first day we are committed to protecting the standard of living of the citizens and to ensure the stability of the price. The measures taken since the beginning of the year, including limiting food margins and hygiene products today, have concrete results – says Durmishi.

Minister of Economy and Labor, Durmishi, says the data shows that April inflation is virtually zero, compared to March and has an increase of only 0.06 percent.

– Compared to April last year, inflation is 2.6%, which means it does not pass 3% and is in a stable phase. Food prices are almost unchanged almost 0.3% annually and I have to emphasize it if we compare April with December 2024 we have a 1.3% deflation. So we have a reduction in inflation – says Durmishi.

He emphasized that these data are facts and show that the economy in our country is stable and citizens do not face enormous increase in food prices. The Minister, Durmishi announced intensified inspection controls by inspectors from the state market inspector during May.

Asked about the prices for the drugs, the Minister of Economy and Labor Durmishi says that because they are regulated, pharmacies are not obliged to put them on the web foreigners.
