Dumani demands the dismissal of the former Lezha Chief Prosecutor, the KPA decides on April 9
The Special Appeals Panel held the hearing for Lezha Prosecutor’s Office, Erjon Shehaj.
It is learned that the decision will be made on April 9.
At the March 19 session, SPAK leader Altin Dumani demanded his dismissal for serious professional violations. Dumani argued that Shehaj had serious deficiencies in the exercise of his duty and that his actions had damaged the reliability of the justice system, bringing uncertainty and preventing the investigation of some important issues.
Dumani mentioned some cases where Shehaj had failed to follow the legal procedures provided, making it impossible to conduct in -depth and complete investigations. According to him, prosecutor Erjon Shehaj had made unreasonable decisions to dismiss the investigation, without implementing the legal requirements for collecting evidence and without taking advantage of the opportunities the law offers to conduct in -depth investigations in some major issues.
One of the most serious violations identified by Duman was Shehaj’s decision to dismiss an investigation against an individual accused of high corruption, regardless of the facts and evidence that this individual could have committed criminal offenses. Dumani emphasized that, instead of conducting further investigations, Shehaj had dismissed the file without a detailed analysis of evidence and circumstances of the case.
