DUI: Albanians are insufficiently represented in several key institutions

The Democratic Union for Integration expresses deep concern over the latest reports on the insufficient representation of Albanians in decisive positions in the state institutions of Macedonia. According to an analysis published in several media, Albanians are insufficiently represented in several key institutions, including the presidency, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Sport, the National Bank, MEPSO and the Administration Agency, the party said today.

They say that this disproportionate relationship is particularly worrying after the abolition of the « balancer » mechanism by the Constitutional Court on October 9, 2024, which previously provided equitable representation of the state administration communities.

– After this decision, the absence of a new legal solution led to the exclusion of Albanians from key decisive positions. DUI emphasizes that the equitable and appropriate representation of all communities is a fundamental pillar of the Ohrid Agreement and a prerequisite for an equal and democratic society. We appeal to the competent institutions to urgently take measures to overcome this inequality and to ensure equitable representation of Albanians at all levels of public administration. DUI remains committed to promoting equality, equitable representation and full integration of Albanians into the institutional life of the state – say the party.
