Drunk recidivist behind the wheel. Judgment of 5 years in prison for breaking the ban
On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, police from Kamienna Góra detained a 46-year-old man who drove the car under the influence of alcohol. The man had over 2.5 per mil of alcohol in his body and had two lifetime driving bans. The District Court in Kamienna Góra sentenced him to five years in prison in an accelerated mode. In addition, a financial penalty and forfeiture of the vehicle value were imposed on him.
Stopping on site for the disabled
Policemen from the Road Traffic Department noticed that the driver was partly parked in place for the disabled. After checking, it turned out that the man was completely drunk. He confessed to drinking alcohol before and during driving. Policemen quickly determined that he had two lifetime driving bans.
Fast trial and a strict judgment
The 46-year-old proceedings were conducted in an accelerated mode. Already on Friday, March 7, 2025, the District Court in Kamienna Góra issued a conviction. The man was found guilty of driving in a state of intoxication and breaking the ban on driving. The court imposed a five -year penalty of imprisonment and imposed a cash benefit to the Fund for Aid to the injured.
Additional financial consequences
In addition to the prison sentence, the court ruled the forfeiture of the equivalent of the value of the vehicle managed by the man. In addition, a financial penalty of PLN 30,000 was imposed on him to the Fund for Aid to Victims. These are severe consequences for a recididist who disregarded traffic rules.
