Driving ended in a ditch. 69-year-old completely drunk at the wheel of Audi
The incident occurred yesterday after 19 in Jelcza Mała in the Pińczów poviat. An officer who serves on a daily basis at the Convoic Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Kielce, he noticed an Audi vehicle that joined the traffic from the dirt road. The driver had clear problems with maintaining a straight track, which aroused the suspicion of a policeman.

Intervention and detention
After driving a few hundred meters, the car pulled over and fell beyond the road. The policeman ran to the driver and confirmed his assumptions – a strong scent of alcohol was felt from the man. The officer took his keys and called the emergency number. A traffic patrol from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Pińczów arrived at the place, he checked the sobriety of the 69-year-old.
Legal consequences
The breathalyzer showed nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in the driver’s body. The man lost his driving license and the court will decide. For driving a motor vehicle in a state of intoxication, he faces a penalty of up to 3 years imprisonment, a high fine and many years of driving ban.
