Dreaming of becoming a national team coach

When Henrik Møllgaard puts the handball shoes on the shelf this summer, it will not be to seek refuge in Danish handball’s safe setting.

Instead, he moves to France, where he joins as assistant coach in the big club Paris Saint-Germain-a place he already knows from within as a previous player from 2015 to 2018.

Although he knows the club well, he does not hide that the decision to make the leap to PSG requires courage and humility.

Have a big dream of the national team

Henrik Møllgaard emphasizes that the coaching deed has never been a matter of course for him.

It was only after a call from his former PSG coach Zvonimir Serdarusic that he began to consider the opportunity.

Although for the time being, the role of assistant is waiting, Henrik Møllgaard does not hide his ambitions.

If the stay in Paris becomes a success, he hopes it can pave the way for a future as a head coach – and preferably for the Danish national team.

« I have dreamed of becoming a national team player, so I will also allow myself to dream of having to be a national coach one day, » he says.

Whether Henrik Møllgaard ends up as a national team coach, time must show. Now he will soon take the first step as an assistant coach in Paris Sant-Germain.
