DP demanded verification of voting sheets, the CEC replies the opposition
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has officially responded to the Democratic Party regarding the request for verification of unused voting sheets in the May 11th elections.
In the response signed by Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi, it is specified that there are 99,455 unused voting sheets belonging to 233 polling stations, which are mistakenly reported as « 0 » in the relevant minutes.
According to the CEC, the total number of unused sheets is 1,935,328, based on official data reported from each polling station. The CEC emphasizes that these inaccuracies derive from errors in filling in the minutes by the voting centers committees and that all explanations were made in the context of transparency and verification of the regularity of the electoral process.
CEC Answer to PD:
Dear Mr. Nuri
In response to your request regarding the immediate verification of the voting sheets used for the May 11, 2025 elections, we inform you:
The number of 1,935,328 unused voting sheets only include the reported amount of these sheets according to the minutes of each VC.
This number should also be added to:
27,340 ballots for 74 QV, where electronic voting, ZAZ no.27 (Vora Municipality) and ZAZ no. 41 (Administrative Unit 10, Tirana). As can be understood by these ballots have not been used;
99,455 unused balloting sheets that make up the amount of these sheets for 233 QV, whose minutes are mistakenly marked by “0” the number of unused sheets;
5,369 are unused voting sheets but their numbers in a logical test are estimated to be reflected in errors in the relevant records for each VC (there are 1,380 QV reporting these data with errors).
Thanking you for the cooperation
State Election Commissioner
Ilirjan Celibashi
