Dozens of museums and galleries open their doors to the European Museum Night
Dozens of museums, galleries and art spaces open their doors on May 17 for the European Museum Night and will welcome their visitors with a free entrance. Bulgaria joined the initiative, which began in 2005 by the French Ministry of Culture, from its first edition.

Among the highlights in the events of the Regional History Museum in Sofia is the exhibition « Archeology of Sofia and Sofia XI: The Western Port of Serdica », which focuses on the history, studies, discoveries and socialization of one of the most significant archeological sites on the territory of Sofia – the Western Gate of Serdica. And in the Ancient Serdica Complex there will be a special initiative « School of Archeology » for the Night of Museums. Another accent is the talk with a guide entitled « The Museum under the Basilica of Saint Sofia: the beginning on the » Way of Wisdom « . Again together! ».
The National Military History Museum (NVIM) is included in the initiative with its permanent chronological exhibition, with visitors being able to look at one of the richest museum collections in the country and keep this memory with a selfie in a specially distinguished corner, BTA said. The program also includes a concert of the Representative Brass Band of the Land Forces with popular works from their rich repertoire.

At the house-museum of Nikola Vaptsarov in Sofia, visitors will be able to see the temporary exhibition « Four Poetic Elements », which shows personal belongings, manuscripts and books by Blaga Dimitrova, Stanka Pencheva, Vanya Petkova and Vesna Parun. While in the National Gallery – the palace presented the exhibition of the actor and photographer Vladimir Karamazov – « In their place ». The « Square 500 » will show the exposition « Painting with wool and silk ».
