Dozens killed in Israel as Iran and Israel exchange attacks on their third consecutive day

Israel carried out the bombing throughout Iran for the third consecutive day on Sunday and threatened to use even greater strength, while some Iranian missiles escaped Israeli air defense and hit buildings in the heart of the country, killing dozens.
The region is preparing for a prolonged conflict following Israel’s sudden bombardment against Iran’s nuclear and military objects on Friday, where some senior nuclear generals and scientists were killed.
From Friday, neither Israel nor Iran have been showing signs of repentance.
Iran said Israel struck two oil refineries, raising concerns about a wider attack on the Iranian energy industry, which could affect global markets.
US President Donald Trump expressed full support for Israel’s actions, warning Iran that he could only avoid further destruction by accepting a new agreement on his nuclear program.

In Israel, at least 10 people were killed by Iranian attacks at night and Sunday morning, according to officials, bringing the total number of dead to 13 on Friday.
The country’s main international airport and airspace remained closed for the third consecutive day.
At least six people, including a 10-year-old and a 9-year-old, were killed when a rocket hit a residential building in Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv.

Daniel Hadad, a local police commander, said 180 people were injured and seven were missing.
Four other people, including a 13-year-old, were killed and 24 others were injured when a rocket struck a building in the Arab city of Tamra in northern Israel. Another attack on the rehovot central city left 42 people injured.
In Iran, new explosions were heard in Tehran and reported elsewhere in the country Sunday morning, but there were no casualties. The day before, the Iranian ambassador to the UN said 78 people had been killed and more than 320 were injured during previous attacks.
Israeli attacks targeted the Iranian Defense Ministry Sunday morning after previously hitting air defense, military bases and objects linked to the nuclear program.

Urgent calling
World leaders have urgently called on the situation. Attacks on nuclear facilities establish a « dangerous precedent », China’s Foreign Minister said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected these calls, saying that Israel’s attacks so far are « nothing compared to what they will feel from our forces in the coming days. »
Israel, the only state – though officially undeclared – with nuclear weapons in the Middle East, said it launched an attack to prevent Iran from the development of a nuclear weapon.
Iran and Israel have been regional enemies for decades.
