« At S. Daukanto Street Pedestrian Bridge has long been made. When I started dismantling the sidewalk, I thought maybe it would be extended to Maironio Street. There are no places to park in the center, it would certainly help.

The newspaper asked Kaunas City Municipality specialists what works were done on King Mindaugas Avenue or whether additional parking spaces would actually be installed. However, representatives of the city quickly dispelled the doubts of Kaunas resident.

The planned work of Kauno Energija’s heat networks is carried out here, so it is precisely the specialists of this company to comment on the work. Kauno Energija confirmed that the reconstruction of the heat networks was underway.
« As every year, as the heating season approaches, the preparations are being started for reconstruction of the most worn -out heat supply networks. Almost 80 % of the main mains have been updated in Kaunas, but there are still a number of piping in the city, which are needed to ensure reliable and efficient heat supply.
This year’s continued last year on King Mindaugas Avenue 1968-1970. Reconstruction works of deck networks. This is the largest project for the reconstruction of Kauno Energija networks this year. One of the oldest pipelines in the city will be replaced in the section from S. Daukantas’ pedestrian bridge to the heat chamber between D. Poškos and J. Gruodis streets, ”said Kauno Energija representatives.

Preparing is going on
Kauno Energija informed that preparation work is underway, and the reconstruction of the pipelines will begin after the heating season and after hydraulic tests.
« In order to cause minor inconvenience to the population, the work will be done in several stages. The last reconstruction of the tracks will be completed by mid -September. The whole environment will be cleaned up, the ratio of the sidewalk to green area will not change, » commented Kauno Energija representatives about the expected deadlines for the work on King Mindaugas Avenue.
The length of the track is about 1 km. Part of the work will take place in the yards of the dwelling.
