Dorinel Munteanu broke up with Sepsi


The management of the Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe football club has reached an agreement on amicable termination of contractual relations with the head coach Dorinel Munteanu, the group from Superliga announced on Monday evening.

The 56 -year -old technician took over the technical management of Sepsi OSK on March 18 and obtained a single point in five stages.

Munteanu had signed a contract valid until June 30, 2026, with an extension option for another year.

Dorinel Munteanu has prepared in his career teams such as CFR Cluj, FC Argeș, FC Vaslui, « U » Cluj, FCSB, FC Dinamo Bucharest, Mordovia Saransk, Kuban Krasnodar, Qabala, Astra Giurgiu, Zakho, Concordia Chiajna and CSM Reșița.

On December 30 last year, Dorinel Munteanu left the Technical Bank of the team Oțelul Galați, at three and a half years since he had taken over. During this period, the Red-Alb-Albastra group achieved two successive promotions, returning to the Superliga and played the final of the Romanian Cup last season.

At Sepsi OSK, Munteanu had replaced Valentin Suciu. Suciu, who replaced at Sepsi OSK on the German Bernd Storck, dismissed on September 9 due to weak results.

Sepsi OSK ranks 8th, the antepenultimate in the play-out, with two points in addition to the Unirea Slobozia, the penultimate.
