Don’t pay: FPS Finance warns of false mail

You have paid 42.80 euros too little for tax year 2024 and you have to regularize that as soon as possible by depositing that outstanding amount. Dozens of people have received the mail in the meantime. Do not pay: it is about fraud, the FPS Finance and Safeonweb warn.
A few e-mails are currently circulating in the name of the Federal Public Service Finance, SafeonWeb warns. For example, there is one e -mail that you inform that you have to regularize an amount of approximately 42 euros for tax year 2024. The warning e -mail also contains bank details on which the amount must be deposited.
« Note: this is a phishing e -mail, not from the Federal Public Service Finance, but from fraudsters, » says Safeonweb, who informs Belgian citizens and advises on cyber safety.

The message that is currently circulating in the two national languages looks credible and also emphasizes the urgency. A payment term is always stated on it.
« But if you look at the sender, you immediately see that it has nothing to do with the FPS Finance. The only safe way to view your personal situation is through the secure Myminfin platform. The Tax Authorities do not send these types of emails. »
Nothing to open or download
If you will receive such an email, do not click on it and certainly do not open attachments or do not download applications if you are asked. Make it report [email protected].
