The RIA Novosti agency reports that the presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump conducted another telephone conversation. This was confirmed by the adviser of the Russian leader Yuri Ruszakov. The heads of states discussed the tightening of the situation in the Middle East and the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict.
What did Trump talk about with Putin?
According to Ria Novosti, Putin condemned Israel’s surgery against Iran and expressed serious concern with the possible escalation of the conflict. He reminded that Russia proposed specific steps in negotiations regarding the Iranian nuclear program. The President of Russia informed his American counterpart about telephone contacts with the Prime Minister of Israel and President Iran. Trump assessed the situation in the Middle East as very disturbing. « The presidents of Russia and the USA, despite such a complicated situation, do not exclude the return to the path of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, » Ria Novosti said.
Putin and Trump talked about Ukraine
As for the war in Ukraine, Putin informed Trump about the implementation of the Istanbul agreements. He described the exchange of prisoners of war, including seriously wounded and fighters under the age of 25. He assured that Russia is ready to continue negotiations with Ukraine after June 22. Trump expressed interest in the end of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible.
