Trump was not a successful businessmen, just a good actor in his own story. His Trump brand was protected by banks just to have a chance to recover at least part of the money. Without it, only empty buildings and even more empty accounts would remain. The Trump brand is therefore a symbol of how marketing can create an illusion.
