Dome Square will host a public viewing / day of the Eurovision Finals

The Dome Square is customized and landscaped for public viewing so that everyone interested can follow the World Hockey Championship and the final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

It has already been reported that Latvia’s « Folk Girls » with the song « Bur Me Happy » on Thursday in Basel, Switzerland, entered the final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Alongside Latvia, Lithuania, Israel, Armenia, Denmark, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Malta and Greece entered the Eurovision finals, while Australia, Montenegro, Ireland, Georgia, Czech Republic and Serbia remained outside the final.

The final of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Saturday, May 17th. Without participation in the semi -finals, the final place is secured by France, Italy, Great Britain, Spain and Germany, as they provide the most financial contribution to the competition, as well as Switzerland, as it is last year’s winner.

In the first semi -final, 15 countries competed in the finals, of which Estonia, Norway, Albania, Sweden, Iceland, the Netherlands, Poland, San Marino, Portugal and Ukraine. Slovenia, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Croatia and Cyprus did not qualify for the finals.

Winning the Latvian Television Song Contest « Supernova », the ethnopopy band « Folk Girls » with the song « Bur Me Happiness » was the right to represent Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest in February.

The group « Folk Girls » is currently performing asnate Rancāne, Gabriel Zvaigznīte, Aurelija Rancāne, Annemary Moiseja, Laura Līcīte and Kate Slišāne.
