Dolný Kubín. City MPs did not comply with the prosecutor’s protest General Prosecutor’s Office SR against the generally binding regulation (VZN) of the city on the names of the streets and other public spaces.
They decided in the vote on today (24 April) meeting of the council.
Prosecutor Peter Mihál will therefore contact the Administrative Court.

Prosecutor Peter Mihál addressed a protest to Dolný Kubín two months ago. It concerns the name of two streets – Šmidke and General Svoboda and Square of Ján Vojtaššák.

« I started to deal with the matter on the basis of an initiative from a natural person to examine the legality of determining the name of Ján Vojtaššák Square, » Mihál said.
« I have found that the city has a currently VZN that I can explore, and I went accordingly. There’s nothing more behind it. »
He responded to the notes of several deputies about biscuits against the person of Bishop Vojtaššák and the possible political motives of the Prosecutor General.

« I believe that even with other problems that suffer from our country and self -government, and the absurds of some laws, the prosecutor’s office will take so much effort and work, » said Deputy Mayor Matúš Lakoštík.
