Does the repression of the students command Dejan Vuk Stankovic? – Society

The trend of the attempts to intimidate students was started by the Dean of the Medical Faculty in Nis, who called the police on their students in the middle of the month. Several students were detained, but they were soon released.

The Dean of DIF in Novi Sad was recently done. He « fell » in the faculty building and briefly prevent students from entering the building in the building.

The news is more and more and more often, without agreement with students, they are organizing online teaching, which is mostly reduced to sending materials, which is the case with medical faculties in Nis and Kragujevac, as well as with most higher schools.

« Timed bomb for schools »

Janko Veselinović, Professor of the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad and President of the Reversal Movement, is the opinion that Dejan Vuk Stanković is « Termed Bomb » for education.

Lawyer and member of the Vice President of the Social Democrats of Vojvodina Aleksandar olenic indicates that most of the information on starting teaching, which is pressure on students in blockade, but also attempt to bring citizens to mislead.

On the other hand, Professor Faculty of Political Sciences and the Member of the Green-Left Front, Djordje Pavićević, in general, has not much to do with Dejan Vuk Stanković, because he is set as someone who is ready to implement what others decide.

« The situation at universities is partly due to the smallest pressures performed by power, by taking inspections and threats to punish, criminal charges and enemy changes in the law, which included a national accreditation body, » says Pavićević.

In the other part, the reasons are attached to, adds, now objective, the problems of funding and the danger of loss of the year with non-commitable consequences, because the government can abuse this situation to inflict the University in the long run.

« The University does not have a solution out of this situation. Due to all that, there is no problem, but, in most faculties, the situation is that professors who tried to force a violent impose solution, » Pavićević concludes. « 

We remind, Dejan Vuk Stankovic is 16. April appointed Minister of Education in the Serbian government, which caused violent reactions in the academic and general public. His appointment has occurred at the moment of intensive student protests and blockages, which Stanković publicly criticized, emphasizing that it does not support their requirements and methods. As a full professor at the Faculty of Education of the Teacher and Educators of the University of Belgrade, he was the only member of that collective who pleaded against the college blockade.
