At the Catholic Cathedral « St. Paul » in Tirana, the Passover Mass was led by the Archbishop of Tirana-Durres, Monsignor Arjan Dodaj, who in his message focused on the importance of peace and the need for protection in time.

« O omnipotent and eternal God, protect us. You raise what has fallen down and protects what is in war. Do the best for us, our Lord. Amen, » he said during prayer.

This year, Easter coincides on the same day for all Christian, Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant believers, who has created an even stronger sense of unity and spiritual reflection.

The ceremony is also being held at the « Resurrection of Christ » Cathedral, where many believers have gathered for the Mass expected to be led by the new archbishop of Albania Father Joan.

Religious ceremonies have begun on Saturday evening with the Mass of Vigilje, while Sunday will continue with family lunches and festive congratulations.

On this holy day, there were no congratulations from the highest leaders of the state. The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, said in a message of congratulations: « This is a day of hope and resurrection that invites us to be closer to one another, with more love, care and solidarity. »
