– Do not remove us from common sense
We believe all Loppa politicians have a desire for elected officials to be gathered for political words, face to face and with the possibility of both mingling and more informal talk between the battles.
Occasionally, democracy must have some help in order for voters’ « weighting » of the political parties to function in line with the result, for example because the district politicians from the outer flea are prevented by the weather.
We also got a worldwide pandemic to deal with. When it was possible to have team meetings at home office under the coronary smart, the municipality of Loppa should use all imaginable reason and goodwill to ensure that local democracy works, both in storm and sunshine.
We should not make the storms in the flea worse than they are, but the special geography, the spread of people and the distances may make it necessary for remote meetings in the toughest winter months.
Normally, it could be a few representatives and deputy representatives in especially Vestre Loppa, who can exceptionally participate in teams to fulfill the proportionate result of the election in 2023.
It has become fairly common to solve these types of practical challenges for business in our elongated country – so then the elected officials should be able to solve this in a democratic spirit, without creating a network of stumbling threads for each other.
We think it seems demonstratively to place the chairmanship members of various rooms at the town hall, as we experienced in April. It is distant from both the intention and the logical sense we expect politicians to be equipped with.
The risk is also that the inability to find solutions undermines trust in politicians. We must not forget that democracy is skirted without the feeling of justice, and it must not be perceived for everything in the world that one proposes that it should be « politically » sensible to focus on list candidates in the municipal centers to fulfill the presence.
If the choice of deputies also becomes a matter of ferry settings and road hazards, we are on wild roads. The breadth of age, gender and residence must reflect reality.
In Vestre Loppa, they know the need for agents to avoid Klam centralization in the district of the district – and then the feeling of closeness can be saved by technology and what is referred to as remote meetings.
Of course, rules and legislation should be followed, but we think that it is in everyone’s interest that politicians jointly find driving rules that are proportionate to the intention that the politicians and parties can participate in debate and decisions, as we had the impression that politicians were concerned in Thursday’s municipal council meeting.
If there are some pitfalls, it is important to force them together. For local democracy.
