Do not open case sr. Frederick to a new
The executives of KFUM & K do not intend to take the case sr. Friðrik Fridriksson, the founder of the movement, again. It refers to allegations made in his yard in 2023 and defended alleged sexual harassment or abuse on his part against young boys.
This is confirmed by Tomas Torfason, Managing Director of the association in a written reply to Morgunbladid. An inquiry was sent to the chairman of KFUM, Stefán Jónsson, following the fact that Jón Magnússon Supreme Court Attorney was interviewed in the question on May 9, saying that a group of members in KFUM had requested that the seams be seams on the aforementioned allegations.

More likelihood than smaller
KFUM subsequently got the priest Bjarni Karlsson and psychologist Sigrún Júlíusdóttir to go into the seams of the matter and talk to the individuals who made a living. The guilt proven?
In the aforementioned interview with Jón Magnússon, he argues that allegations against sr. Frederick is not fully proven and that the youth leader, who died 64 years ago, has been violated in the light of the fact that people are considered innocent until the guilt is proven in cases against them. Jón pointed out that sr. Fridrik had not been appointed and chosen advocate in the case against him at KFUM & K. Then he also believes that the two experts, who were hired to investigate the case, had predetermined and negative views on SR. Frederick.
In his reply, Tomas points out that KFUM’s treatment of Sr. Fridrik was discussed in detail in the company’s annual report, which was published in April 2024. There, also at the Company’s Annual General Meeting, the matter was given its space and discussion and « support of the members of the Board of Directors on the matter » has been underlined.
« That was a point on the part of the company on this difficult matter, » says Tomas. And he adds: « This issue has taken its toll and leaves a wound to a large number of people. Wounds we need to give time and space to heal. There is no interest on the part of KFUM and KFUK to push it back. »
Cost 1.5 million
In addition, Morgunblaðið made an inquiry to the chairman of KFUM regarding the cost of the investigation and follow -up of the association with the case sr. Frederick.
The CEO’s reply states that the cost is ISK 1.5 million.
