Do not ignore respiratory infections. 66 deaths only this season
A number of 108,977 cases of respiratory infections – clinical influenza, IACRS and pneumonia – were reported on March 10 and 16, the National Institute of Public Health (Insp) reported.
In the last week, four deaths were communicated due to flu. The number of people who died from the flu this season is 66.
'In the week of 10-March 16, 108,977 cases of respiratory infections (clinical influenza, IACRS and pneumonia) were reported, registering with 26.6% more cases compared to the same week of the previous season (86,097) and 1.9% less cases compared to the previous week (111.058). The variation in addition to the average calculated by 95,400 cases of 5 previous seasons (without pandemic seasons) was 14.2%', Insp.
According to IEP, 5,752 clinical influenza cases were reported at national level, compared to 825 cases in the same week of the previous season and 7,554 registered in the previous week. The cases of clinical influenza were reported by all the counties, most being in Bucharest (952) and in Cluj (411) and Prahova (410) counties. In 24 counties the number of reported clinical influenza cases was below 100.
There were also reported 151 cases of influenza confirmed by the laboratory, with 29.8% less than in the previous week: 78 with unsubticed type A type A, 10 with AH1 influenza virus, 13 with AH3 influenza virus and 50 B -type virus.
Until March 16, the national vaccination register (RENV) were registered in the national electronic register 1,154,385 people vaccinated, of which 1,133,081 of the population groups benefiting from compensated regime.
