Takáč wanted to simplify the shooting of dogs.
BRATISLAVA. If the amendment to the Hunting Act passed in the form in which the Minister of Agriculture Richard Takáč of Direction He recently presented to the government, dog owners could only freely release them in designated selections.
Practically everywhere else could be shot by a hunter.
This was pointed out by the environmental expert of Democrats Michal Kiča. The non-parliamentary party also launched a petition signed by more than 15,000 people.
Takac described this as the spread of « alarm and misleading information » and « cheap political marketing ».
Nevertheless, the Minister withdrew his amendment from the government meeting. He said he wanted to negotiate with parliamentary clubs, including opposition. Takáč justified the non -standard procedure by wanting to « minimize friction ».
In the article you can read:
- Why do not shoot dogs in Bratislava’s city forests,
- As the free dog is a wild game risk,
- How it works abroad.
The amendment came 717 comments, of which 269 the ministry was assessed as essential. They were accepted by 162 and partly another 90.
Dogs are not the main theme of the amendment or comments. In the explanatory memorandum, the ministry writes that he comes up with the proposal to address the problem of overgrown ratio game, streamlined the fight against the spread of veterinary diseases and corrected shortcomings in the registration of hunting organizations.
They do not shoot in Bratislava, although they could
Hunters can shoot the dogs on time off today if they move away from the owner more than 50 meters, which is difficult to prove in practice.
Takáč proposes a complete ban on the free movement of dogs in hunting grounds, which, as Kiča pointed out, consists of approximately 4.5 million hectares of land.
The Minister originally intended to cancel another limit for shooting dogs, which was at least 200 meters from the nearest building.
Freely released dogs also cause problems in the Bratislava city forests.
The scare animals that can cause injury and die, attack visitors or other dogs, although not all are problematic, says Marek Páva, director of the City Forest.
