Disaster in San Diego. Daniel Williams and Dave Shapiro died
The drama took place on Thursday, May 22. The machine was piloted by 42-year-old Dave Shapiro, a producer, manager, co-founder of the agency who was responsible for the careers of such artists as SUM 41, Vanessa Carlton and Pierce The Veil. The plane bought less than a year earlier. Flying was his second passion. He taught, organized flights, had his own aviation school and a hangar office.
« Dave changed my life and the lives of many people, » one of the industry colleagues wrote about him. He also remembered 39-year-old Daniel:-He left music and memories. He was a good man.
Cause? Fog and a dramatic approach
The plane started with Teterboro in New Jersey, he had a between a meter in Wichita, and then flew to San Diego. The disaster occurred around 3.45 in the morning of local time. The pilot approached the landing. There were several kilometers to the airport.
Local services indicate terrible conditions. Thick fog, practically zero visibility. The plane hooked on the energy line. He did not manage to equalize the course.
Among the victims: alternative scene legends
Not only Shapiro and Williams died. Sound Talent Group’s associates were also on board – a total of six people.
The band « The Devil Wears Prada » said goodbye to the former drummer: « There are no words. We owe you everything. We love you forever. »
The house burned down, but the residents miraculously survived
Cessna crashed at the military estate. She hit one of the houses, which was completely burned. The roof collapsed inside. 10 other buildings and several cars were damaged. Eight people from the area were hospitalized with smoke poisoning symptoms.
Investigators on the spot
NTSB (American Commission for Air Accidents) protects the remains of the aircraft. A flight analysis, records from radio, black boxes and videos are underway. The camera from the doorbell of one of the houses registered the moment of impact – a giant fire ball and earth trembling.
Two dramas, one life
The most poignant, Daniel Williams has already brushed his death once. In 2019, he survived a mass shooting in Dayton, in which 9 people were killed. He left unscathed. This time he did not manage to escape.
