Directors replaced on one pallet

Government exchange took place in two state -owned companies this week, with directors being almost replaced by one pallet.

A new five -member board of Iceland Post was appointed at the company’s annual meeting at the beginning of the week and yesterday new people took over the board of directors of Isavia, The business magazine reports.

The changes are related to probably a new procedure on the selection of people to the board of directors of state -owned enterprises, which Dadi Már Kristófersson, the Minister of Finance, launched last month. It should prevent political relations within the governance of state -owned enterprises.

Two selection committees were appointed to assess the competence and incompetence of the individuals who gave themselves the opportunity to go to the board of directors of larger state -owned enterprises.

The Business Journal reports that the Board of Directors of Íslandspóstur was elected Pétur Már Halldórsson (chairman), Hrefna Kristín Jónsdóttir, Einar S. Magnússon, Rakel Heiðmarsdóttir and Sara Sigurðardóttir.

Sara was an alternate member of the board for the past year, but with the exception of it, there are only new faces in the board.

Halldóra Lóa Þorvaldsdóttir, former deputy member of the Left Green, resigns as chairman of the board of Iceland Post. In addition, Baldvin Örn Ólason, son of Inga Zealand Minister of Social Affairs, departed from the Board of Directors.
