Dinte (12) would attend first rock concert in May, but two weeks ago she died unexpectedly in her sleep (Zandhoven)

Because Dinte loved the sea and the coast, it was asked to get into blue. That question was met. At the front there were hugs from Stitch, a unicorn, lots of flowers and next to her urn layers by Geronimo Stilton. Dinte was a real bookworm.

Her class of ‘t Zandhofje was present together with parents, management and teachers. It was striking how her peers deal with the sadness and lack. They really wanted to celebrate her life and commemorate the beautiful moments, very positive, as Dinte himself had been.

The commemoration began with the song What would come from Bart Peeters. The other songs during the celebration all came from Dinte’s own playlist and showed her atypical taste for a twelve girl. K3 of Likeme was not spent on her, she preferred to listen to songs from the fifties to the nineties. Punk, rock, but also Always on My Mind Elvis Presley was played. One of her favorite groups was inhaler. The tickets to look at her first rock concert in the Lotto Arena on 9 May were already ready.

The speaker described Dinte as a Jan without fear who dared everything. As a child she loved horse riding, crosses and football. But she was also a real hug, someone with a spicy character. She soon knew what she wanted and didn’t want. She then showed the latter by rolling her eyes.

She read a lot of books, and preferably to put, cherish and save in the bookcase at home. Dinte was able to talk early, read words and had a great interest in languages. Recently she was learning Russian words in herself. Later she wanted to become a naval biologist because she loved the sea and animals.

Eager to learn and wise

« An old soul in a young body, very wise, very eager to learn. The youngest in the house but with a lot of wisdom, » she was described. But also someone with dry humor who liked to tap jokes, could speak with different voices and liked to dress as a child.

Dinte looked forward to the big school. But certainly also to the birth of a new miracle. In September she would be a big sister. She had already chosen her sister’s name herself.

There is also a lot of sadness and disbelief in Leefschool ‘t Zandhofje. « She had a smile that you stayed with you, it’s hard to understand why some have to go so early, » a classmate put it.

Her best girlfriends Mia and Mitte told the micro in the front how they formed the group ‘De Hyperkikkers’ together with Dinte, a name that Dinte had come up with.
