The 14th edition of the gastronomic event « Dinner in the Sky » starts from today above the battlefield of Waterloo. For 32 days, 32 renowned chefs will provide a culinary experience at a height of 50 meters three times a day.

Guests take a seat around eight round tables, each floating in the air, where 32 gourmets can enjoy a five -course menu every day. Among the participating star chefs are among other things:

  • Christophe Pauly (Le Coq Aux Champs, Tinlot),
  • Glenn Verhasselt (Sir Kwinten, Lennik),
  • Giovanni Bruno (Senzanome, Brussels).
  • This year, five female chefs are also being put in the spotlight:
  • Stéphanie Thunus (Au Gré du Vent, Seneffe),
  • Isabelle Arpin (L’Auberge de Leignon, Ciney),
  • Marie Trignon (La Roseraie, Modave),
  • Mélanie Englebin (Cecila, Ottignies),
  • Manon Schenck (La Table de Manon, Durbuy).

In addition, some young talents also board the central, four -meter -long floating kitchen, such as:

  • Martin Volkaerts (L’Amandier, Genval),
  • Mathieu Vandevelde (Le Roannay, Stavelot),
  • Grégoire Gillard (Barge, Brussels).

Every Saturday and Sunday at 3 pm there are also accessible cocktail sessions, where three drinks and three tapas are served. Well-known names such as Edouard Silverhands (Soma, Ixelles), the mixologists of Barracuda (Ixelles), and chef Sommelier Glen Ramaekers provide this light-hearted experience.

The concept was conceived by the Brussels resident David Ghysels, with the aim of literally and figuratively taking the rich Belgian gastronomy to a higher level.
