Dimitrijeska Kochoska: Projected growth of 3.7 percent realistic, open opportunities to transfer capacity from European countries to our country
The projected growth of the country’s economy of 3.7 percent is real, Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska said, who is staying in Washington, where he participates in the IMF and World Bank spring meetings.
-This crisis that gives great uncertainty we as a state can use a lot, in terms of transferring capacities from European countries. Capacities in European countries will be closed, as customs mean higher purchase prices and thus the European market will look for alternatives to open capacity where they have a cheaper labor force. Although the workforce is no longer cheap in the country, but it is still lower than the European one. Therefore, I think the 3.7 percent projection is real – the finance minister said in a statement to the Macedonian media after publishing a global IMF report.
She emphasized that what the government is committed to and what the IMF is looking for is fiscal consolidation, but that things cannot be changed overnight and that it will take more time.
The Minister of Finance from today until the 26th of this month participates in the spring meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group, where it will meet with senior officials at these two international financial institutions, as well as with US Treasury representatives.
