Dimitrieska-Kochoska: The problem of inflation is complex, we work in continuity and it takes time to settle

The problem with inflation, the average salary is a little more complex and it takes time to fix it. We are working in a continuity, we have not stopped in that area, Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrijeska-Kochoska said today answering journalist questions at a pre-conference.

One of the National Bank’s priorities, he said, is inflation.

– We know that we had two moments that were crucial in the past period that happened and cannot be arranged overnight. One moment is the collective agreements, which have different institutions, with which we are continuously negotiating and negotiating as a further, but we must respect the obligations that someone has undertaken, that is one moment. And the second moment that worries me is that the average salary will continue to grow because there is not enough labor and private sector companies have a big problem with this. Now we are trying to do something in that part with retraining, certain changes of law, but it takes time to make analysis- said Dimitrijeska-Kochoska.

With the governor, he said, that they should be aligned.

– Fiscal and monetary policy must be aligned with each other. This morning we had the first meeting with the Governor, we agreed on more frequent meetings to have a coordinated joint policy, because fiscal and monetary policy must function with each other- the finance minister added.

In terms of the final consumption, clarified the salary of 10 percent automatically means the final consumption.

– People receive higher salaries, higher pensions and final consumption is growing. We have no dilemma here at all. In terms of inflation, we will see how things are going further, we know that there were measures implemented by the Government and that part is being monitored, we will coordinate with monetary policy, implement and respond appropriately to the challenges that will follow- underlined Dimitrieska-Kochoska.
