Diekirch: driver crashes into the entrance gate, car calls for help independently

Around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning there was a traffic accident in Diekirch, in which a car drove against an entrance gate of a private site. While the driver removed on foot from the scene of the accident, the car sent an automatic emergency call via the e-call function. This was forwarded to the police.

Two officials went to the scene of the accident and found the vehicle and a completely damaged entrance goal. Two witnesses stated that the alleged perpetrator was on the run.

After a short search, however, the police were able to put him. He immediately admitted to being responsible for the accident and drinking alcohol. The corresponding alcohol test was positive. The driver’s license was drawn in and a provisional driving ban was imposed.

Driver drove over the highway in snake lines

At around 6 a.m., the police were reported to a car on the A6 that would drive in snake lines over both lanes. A patrol from the police was able to stop the car said at the height of the street exit. The alcohol test was positive, the driver’s driver’s license was pulled in and a provisional driving ban was imposed.

The same was true for a driver who carried out dangerous driving maneuvers at the Place de la Gare around 1.30 a.m. The police stopped the driver, the reddened eyes and a slow response time. Here, too, the driver’s license was drawn in and a provisional driving ban was issued.
