Died Nuno Guerreiro, vocalist of the Valentine wing

Nuno Guerreiro, vocalist of the band Valentine wing, died this Thursday, at 52 years. The news was advanced on Facebook by the mayor of Loulé, Vítor Aleixo, where the musician was natural.

“Nuno Guerreiro died. We are faded,” wrote the mayor in the caption of the publication.

In Correio da Manhã, a source of the municipality said that the singer has been hospitalized in recent days, not knowing the causes of death.

The singer was one of the protagonists of various concerts with the band « Mau Feitio », with Ricardo J. Martins, João Palma, Vítor Bacalhau and Vasco Moura and worked behind the scenes of Cineteatro Louletano, where he worked in production and scene direction.

Nuno Guerreiro became known as the vocalist in the Banda dos Valentineas band, where he gained great relevance with themes that went to history as “The Kiss”, “Lisbon Crazy” or “Sóis Hunter”. The band was founded in 1993, with João Gil, João Monge and Manuel Paulo.

Born in Loulé on September 5, 1972, Nuno Guerreiro was recognized for the uniqueness of his voice and musical versatility. At 16, he moved to Lisbon to study at the National Conservatory Dance School, where he also graduated in lyrical singing.

In addition to working with the band, Nuno Guerreiro released albums solo, highlighting “Love Letter” (1999), produced in Japan by Akira Senju, and “I try to know” (2002), which includes collaborations with artists such as Sara Tavares and Rui Veloso.

In 2018, the Valentine wing celebrated 25 years of career with a special concert in Loulé, bringing together several guest artists.

Also the band of the Philharmonic Society Minerva de Loulé artists regretted the death of the musician in a message released on the same social network.
