Dialogue with the United States is demanding, success also depends on Europe

« These will be the first such conversations between our countries, » Beshta explained, saying that the ambition of the Ukrainian side is to form a common position with the United States, and above all to make Ukraine enter the Peace Negotiation with Russia from the position of power. According to the ambassador, this means, among other things, to strengthen the position of Ukrainian forces on the battlefield, to stop the progress of aggressor units, and to increase pressure on Russia with new sanctions directed at critical elements of Russian security and financial stability. « We have a bad experience with Russia and we do not believe that without strengthening the position of Ukraine on the front and increasing pressure on the Russian side, it is a possible acceptable solution for us. »

The ambassador's statements, which acted in December last year, showed the wish of Kijev after the smoothing of friction with the administration Donald Trump. This is a high -profile dispute by the Republican President with the Ukrainian President Volodimir Green During his visit to the White House, froze American military assistance and interrupted the sharing of intelligence with the victim of Russian aggression.

It will be difficult to replace American help

Ukraine depends in many ways on US intelligence, Beshta confirmed, without which it is more difficult to secure the positions of the Ukrainian forces on the front, to see in the depths of the Russian territory, or to effectively perform attacks with unmanned domestic aircraft, which reaches up to 2000 kilometers. « All this requires intelligence, without which it is difficult to continue (these operations). »

The ambassador does not believe that Europe could fill the gap that was created by the withdrawal of US military and intelligence. According to him, Ukraine produces about 40 percent of the weapon, 30 percent from the US, the rest of the European partners. According to the interviewee, this support is necessary for the long -term sustainability of the Ukrainian army on the battlefields, which means that sooner or later, with Trump's administration, Ukraine will have to find a common language, if not otherwise, by concluding an agreement on rare minerals.

Dialogue with the United States was described by Beshta as « demanding », and in his estimation, its course and success will also depend on the capacity of Europe and Ukraine to make more decisive decisions. « This will have a significant impact on the dynamics with the United States, » the ambassador explained, saying that the old continent must continue to strengthen his security architecture. According to him, this is the only way to successfully discourage Putin's Russia.

Despite US opposition to Ukraine's membership in NATO, the attacked country insists that this is the best way to achieve lasting and just peace. He refused to guess such an alternatives to such a scenario. « (NATO membership) is our absolute priority, » he stressed, saying that Ukraine must be involved in new European security architecture.
