DGA to do any criminal investigation act
USR deputy Emanuel Ungureanu said on Wednesday that he will submit a project to Parliament that stipulates that judicial police workers within the General Anticorruption Directorate (DGA) will be able, according to the law, any criminal investigation act ordered by the competent prosecutor, regardless of the nature of the crime.
« Last days, the High Court of Cassation and Justice has made a decision that, practically, blocks the activity of the General Anticorruption Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, limiting it to anti-corruption activities related to the MIA officials. You certainly know that the DGA had very good actions in the anti-corruption area, for example, for example, for example, for example, The judgment of an oncologist who has taken hundreds of swords from cancer patients.
He stated that, for this purpose, he initiated a legislative proposal to amend the law that refers to the organization and functioning of the DGA of the Ministry of Interior and which « aims to clarify and strengthen the legal framework regarding the competence of the judicial police workers within this direction ».
« It is expressly stipulated that they can carry out, according to the law, any criminal investigation act ordered by the competent prosecutor regardless of the nature of the crime. Practically, after this law enters into force, if a patient, for example, in a hospital, calls the call center that is already in the administration Hearing patients, to be able to do an extensive research, so that this phenomenon of the bribe in hospitals disappears.
According to him, at this moment, due to the decision of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, if a patient sounds like a doctor conditioning his medical act, the DGA can no longer intervene: « I can no longer do the judicial policemen from the DGA to do the job and those who take the bribe to be arrested and to be punished for their deed ».
USR shows in a statement that « in the absence of agreement of the legislation in force with the ICCJ decision, hundreds of corruption files would be endangered », among which the file of the former president of CJ Vaslui, Dumitru Buzatu, caught with 1.25 million lei in the trunk.
The project also provides that the DGA uses funds for operative expenses in order to carry out the specific activities, as well as the possibility of the police officers to collect information or to use collaborators, in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code.
