Deprez extends OGBL and LCGB, despite the removal

OGBL and LCGB do not want to hear anything from the government until peace and co creates a tripartite – actually. Because that could change again soon. Two weeks ago Had announced the employee representatives to accept the government’s invitation to talk about their pension plans with Minister of Social Affairs Martine Deprez (CSV).

The government has been on the part of the government for two weeks. An inquiry from the « Luxemburger Word » to the State Ministry on the day of the press conference of the unions, as the government stands for the cancellation of the unions, remained unanswered. A week later, on the other request, there was still nothing to comment on the government because the CSV/DP minister still had to advise on the subject.

State Ministry invites unions for July 9th

What came out of the consultation became known on Tuesday. Prime Minister Luc Frieden invites the employee representatives in a letter for July 9 to resume the social dialogue. On request, the Ministry of Health says that the government’s reform plans will also play a role in the conversation.

It is currently still unclear whether the unions want to participate. OGBL and LCGB had previously categorically rejected to have further discussions with Minister Deprez, as long as no tripartite is organized. On the « word » request, it says that both unions still talk about the proposal and want to make a decision in this regard.

The fact that the unions have turned off the government’s first invitation, Deprez regrets, her ministry also replies to “word” demand. « It adheres to the project to perceive the perspectives of all actors and to take into account decision -making. » The Ministry of Dialogue with unions continues to exist in an email. « The minister is available at all times to resume the talks with the unions. »

From a response from the Ministry of Health

The ministry does not show whether the minister has come into contact with OGBL and LCGB since the unions canceled the unions. Also not whether the minister would be willing to organize a tripartite. In the email it is only said that the government has decided to invite the social partners for a meeting on July 9th. There, Deprez wanted to address the pension reform, « on the basis of the final report on the corresponding consultation phase, which will be presented by the minister in early July, as well as on the basis of the social partners’ proposals and the government ».

Youth council must decide on participation in talks

In the meantime, the government has already met with the CGFP state official union. Further discussions should follow until a finished pension reform can be presented by autumn. The Ministry points out that Martine Deprez is still planning to meet the UEL employer representative and with youth organizations.

It is currently still unclear whether the youth council will also take part in the talks. A spokesman confirms that they have received the minister’s invitation to the « Luxembourg word ». The conversation with Deprez should be planned for mid -June. However, the youth red is still in the process of deciding whether it wants to appear to be a conversation. « The youth council is still looking internally with the board of directors and will not decide today, » it said on Friday last week.
