In 2024, the average monthly gross-payer in Estonia was the highest in the field of information and communications-3484 euros. The lowest monthly gross-payment in 2024 was in the field of residence and meals-1264 euros. In the fourth quarter of last year, the highest average salary was marked in Tallinn – 2407 euros, BNS reports.

This was announced by the BNS Department of Statistics, noting that the average monthly gross-payer in 2024 amounted to 1981 euros, which is 8.1% higher than 2023. In the fourth quarter of 2024, the average monthly gross-payment amounted to 2062 euros, which is 8.3% more than in the same period of 2023.

The analyst of the Sagrid Sagrid Statistics Department explained that in 2024 the highest average salary was in Tallinn (2325 euros), as well as in Kharya (2218 euros) and Tartusk (1995 euros) counties. “Compared to 2023, the most salaries increased in Khiyu (9.9%) and Ida-Virus (9.7%) counties. In all counties of Estonia, salaries grew by more than 6.5%, ”the analyst said.

In 2024, the highest average salary was marked in the field of information and communications (3484 euros). “The following were followed by the sphere of financial and insurance activities (3127 euros), as well as the sphere of power supply, gas supply, steam and air conditioning (2697 euros),” said Sagpakk.

Last year, the lowest average salary was in the field of residence and food services – 1264 euros. The largest increase in salaries was observed in the field of healthcare and social services (11.9%), as well as in the field of providing other types of services (9.8%).

Median salary is an indicator of gross-pay, less and more of which an equal number of people earns. In recent years, both medium and median salaries have been observed, but in 2024 growth slowed down. “The median salary amounted to 1628 euros last year. Compared to 2023, when the median salary was 1501 euros, the salary growth was 8.5%, ”the analyst said.

In 2024, the most employees, namely 101,400 people, that is, 17% of the total number of employees, worked in the field of manufacturing industry. This was followed by wholesale and retail trade (including repair of vehicles and motorcycles) with almost 90,000 employees, education scope with almost 65,000 employees and the field of healthcare and social services with 48,000 employees.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the average salary amounted to 2062 euros, which is 8.3% higher than in the same period a year earlier. In the last quarter of last year, the median salary amounted to 1699 euros.

The highest average salary in the fourth quarter of 2024 was marked in Tallinn – 2407 euros. “Both in the Kharya and Tartusk district, the average salary was higher than the average in Estonia, 2299 euros and 2092 euros, The average salary was below 1,600 euros also in Saaren (1584 euros) and Lyanneskom (1586 euros) counties.

Starting from the first quarter of 2023, the Department of Statistics uses to publish the average salary the data of the employment register of the tax and such departments and the reports of the income and social tax. Persons working on the basis of both an employment contract, the law on the public service, and the service agreement were taken into account – with the exception of employees of the Department of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of the Interior.
