We need to prepare for the worst
Denmark is facing the most serious security situation since World War II.
So clearly, the message from the Minister of Social Security and Contingency, Torsten Schack Pedersen, is following the publication of the new national risk picture.
The threat level has increased significantly, and although Denmark is not currently targeting a military attack, the risk of violent events such as sabotage, cyber attacks and collapse in critical supplies is growing.

At a press conference in Copenhagen, the minister emphasized that the threats to Danish society now include far more than traditional war scenarios.
It is about energy security, IT infrastructure and the possibility of sudden collapse that can paralyze everything from water supply to health care.
Together with the Director of the Board of Social Security, Laila Reenberg, he presented the report on Thursday the National Risk Picture 2025. In the mapped 16 different types of incidents that Danish authorities must be prepared for.
Already, concrete recommendations are being issued to municipalities and regions to ensure warehouses of water, medicine and food. Special nursing homes, residences and citizens in their own homes must be prioritized, the letter is sent out today.
